Thomas Paine Comes Home

Thomas Paine is returning to his home town of Bordentown!
Please visit the Bordentown Library to relive Thomas Paine’s legacy, performed by Bob Gleason of the American Historical Theater. He will regale us with bold stories of living in Bordentown and his outspoken and controversial career of being a renowned political activist, author, American revolutionary, and catalyst to the Declaration of Independence.
Best known as the author of “Common Sense” and other political writings, the England-born Paine considered Bordentown his home and owned property in Bordentown City. He is also immortalized in a stone statue on Prince Street. Outspoken, controversial, articulate and committed to social equality, this occasion is certain to spark discussion and evoke spirited discussion. Event will be held in the Program Room.
