Colonel Hand Historic March

Celebrate the 58th annual commemoration of Colonel Edward
Hand’s Delaying Actions on the Maidenhead – Trenton Road on
January 2nd, 1777, part of the Ten Crucial Days and the prelude
to the Battles of Assunpink Creek and Princeton. Enjoy a historical
program inside the Municipal Center followed by a musket firing
from the front steps. Then join us for a two-mile march along
the historic highway to sites of the delaying actions. See the new
historical markers on the Bridge Academy property at Five Mile
Run. Experience actual cannon fire at Shabakunk Creek (at Notre
Dame High School). Rides will be provided to return to the
Municipal Center. Following the march there will be refreshments
served at the Lawrence Nature Center (481 Drexel Ave). For more
information, contact Lawrence Twp. Recreation Dept
609-844-7067. NPS Passport stamps available!
